Black Shine Fever is a newborn project hailing from the Sacred Ancient woods surrounding Rome, Italy, created by Maxx Maryan, the Man behind the globally acclaimed female-fronted Electro Pop-Metal sensation duo Helalyn Flowers and futuristic reinvention of Industrial Rock IMJUDAS. He also used to be the demiurge behind well-known cult entities such as Okkultum Magnificentia and Arimonium Rex, which were deeply rooted into the 90's elite black metal movement, as well as various extreme metal side-projects like The Wet and Blackcore.

Black Shine Fever somehow represents the twisted side of Maxx Maryan's personal experiences in both Black Metal and Dark/ Goth worlds which has evolved into a new form through the years. The debut album 'Via Negativa' is the purest manifestation of its own mastermind's efforts to merge several conflicting sides of his personality. As a matter of fact, 'Via Negativa' took shape in a gradual manner, without losing its wild emotivity, as it was summoned and expiated in different moments between Saturnalia 2015 and Vulcanalia 2018: it is the sum of a long journey through years of passion, uncertainties, unanswered questions and personal crises. All the feelings, the suffering, and the (broken) hopes conveyed by the music are also portrayed by the outstanding artwork created by talented artist Noemi Aurora/ Toxic Visions Design.

The core of the project is expressed not only through the lyrics but also through a cold output reminiscent of some of the most obscure personalities, as if Maxx Maryan was jamming with Rozz Williams, Quorthon and Pete Burns in a rubber room. The result is frenetic and caustic, elementally transformed into a style carrying a huge emotional burden and the emotional connection is one of the most important keys to fully understanding the album.

"dear friends from the globe, I have always liked to reflect on the idea that the music we create is something that exists fragmented in the ether, and that therefore already exists and that envelops us, before we encode it, through a creative process, in OUR music, our art. In this
case, music is physical, it has a body, it has a weight that pushes and impacts our senses. If so, it will probably be mortal like us, butevidently, surviving to us our own art has a much longer life! This consideration of time passing and which it does with due differences, has been, for a period, a cause for my concern.
Those who know me well know that music my signature so far published is only a tiny amount of how much I actually wrote and, in many many cases, recorded it. I often see myself as a sephirotic vase through which music flows, thus flowing elsewhere. I can no longer keep anything, my friends, in "this area" the music "inside" is too much and it's time for me to let it go before it overtakes me. In particular, this Black Shine Fever album represents a perfect paradigm. A three-
year gestation, preceded by a lifetime's psychic metamorphosis and followed by two years of limbo / Hades, broken promises, appearances and shadows, as fragile as concrete in one's inner silence ... But all this, why? As an artist, but above all in my specific role as an artist, which I just cannot separate from myself as a living being, I have always liked to spectacularize deep aspects of me, things that I can hardly speak openly to someone, especially without doing a little of confusion ... What, at first glance, might seem something halfway between a narcissistic game and kind of a somnambulistic self-analysis, reveals itself, once consumed, a truthful reading of a part of our lives. If art and music know how to give us this, then it is true that they are part of us as we are of them. Thus a
testimony becomes a work of art, however in which nothing is fixed, essential or sacred; I myself did not want to offer an answer to the sore dualisms that I praised in "Via Negativa". I like to think that each of you can find inside a piece of your own life, indeed I would like you to write me en masse to share your experience with me in the presence of this creature of mine, Black Shine Fever. Make it yours, girls and boys, it's for you. It is time for it to be truly yours. It has been my personal intoxication for the past five years. As if it were a toxic Eucharist, take it from me. Un messaggio da Maxx Maryan: "cari amici e amiche dal globo, mi è sempre piaciuto riflettere sull'idea che la musica che creiamo sia qualcosa che esista frammentata nell'etere, e che quindi già esista e che ci avvolga, prima che noi la codifichiamo tramite un processo creativo nella NOSTRA musica, la nostra arte. In questo caso, la musica è fisica, ha un corpo, un suo peso che spinge e urta sui nostri sensi. Se così, sarà probabilmente mortale come noi, ma evidentemente, sopravvivendo a noi la nostra stessa arte, gode di vita assai più lunga! Questa considerazione del tempo che passa e che lo fa con le dovute differenze, è stata, per un periodo, causa di mio turbamento. Chi mi conosce bene sa che la musica a mia firma finora pubblicata è solo una minuscola quantità di quanta effettivamente io ne abbia scritta e, in molti casi, registrata. Spesso mi vedo come un vaso sephirotico attraverso cui la musica fluisce, sfociando quindi altrove. Non posso più trattenere nulla, amici miei, da queste parti la musica "dentro" è troppa ed è ora che io la lasci andare, prima che mi sopravvada. In particolare, questo album dei Black Shine Fever ne rappresenta un perfetto paradigma. Una gestazione di tre anni, preceduta da metamorfosi psichiche di una vita e succeduta da due anni di limbo/ Ade, promesse rotte, comparse e ombre, tanto fragili quanto concrete nel proprio silenzio interiore... Ma tutto ciò,
perchè? Come artista, ma soprattutto nelle mie specifiche vesti di artista, che proprio non riesco a scindere da me come essere vivente, mi è sempre piaciuto spettacolarizzare aspetti profondi di me, cose di cui difficilmente riesco a parlare apertamente a qualcuno, soprattuto senza fare un pò di confusione... Ciò che, sulle prime battute, potrebbe sembrare qualcosa a metà tra un giochetto narcisistico e un'autoanalisi sonnambolica, si rivela, una volta consumato, una lettura veritiera di una parte delle nostre vite. Se l'arte, la musica, sanno donarci ciò, allora è vero che esse fanno parte di noi come noi di esse. Così una testimonianza diventa un'opera d'arte, però in cui niente è fisso, imprescindibile o sacro; io stesso non ho voluto offrire risposta ai mal di dualismo che ho decantato in "Via Negativa". Mi piace pensare che ognuno di voi possa trovarci dentro un pezzetto delle proprie vite, anzi mi piacerebbe che mi scriveste in massa per condividere con me la vostra esperienza al cospetto di questa mia creatura, Black Shine Fever. Fatelo vostro, ragazze e ragazzi, è per voi. E' tempo che sia davvero vostro. Esso è stato il mio personale intossicante negli ultimi cinque anni.
